With a life-long passion for interior design and a talent for infusing personality and playfulness into every space, Live With Distinction founder Rachael Levine creates impactful interiors that inspire and delight. For Rachael, interior design is about more than creativity – it’s a means to establish pride in your home, a space to entertain, find joy, and harbour memories.
A self-described leap-of-faith, Rachael made the transition into full-time entrepreneurship in 2019, three years after initially founding LWD. Since then, she has fallen head-over-heels for the life of an independent business owner, enamoured with the way an enduring design relationship can result in a vibe that will be enjoyed for years to come.

COLLABORATING WITH YOU
The First Step
In-home Consultation
UP TO TWO HOURS
This client-driven meeting is available as a standalone service, or included in all full-service Interior Decorating relationships. This is a client-driven meeting, provided by our principal designer, Rachael Levine. Together, we’ll walk room to room or with a specific focus.
We will provide you with actionable ideas and professional advice on topics such as layout, style and colour that best suits your space.
Consultation
At this stage, we connect for an in-home consultation lasting up to two hours. This client-driven meeting is available as a standalone service, or included in all full-service Interior Decorating relationships. During our meeting, we will discuss specific goals, aesthetics, layout, approximate project budget and timeline.

Planning
Once our partnership has been solidified through contract and retainer, it’s time to begin! We’ll visit for an on-site measure, photos, and bring a contractor or trades to site if necessary. At this stage, we prepare furniture layouts and a decorating budget for your review in a design and estimate presentation. Please allow 4 weeks for us to execute this phase.

Collaborate
Now that the floorplans and budget are approved, we enter the collaboration phase. This is an intimate experience, guided by YOUR vision. We place a significant focus on your style, how you want the space to feel and flow, and take into consideration family needs and dynamics. We cant wait to learn more about your preferred style, likes/ dislikes, overall vision, requirements, family dynamics, lifestyle.

Here, we design and create the space of your dreams while sourcing product. Please allow roughly 8 weeks depending on the scale of your project for us to develop interior schemes. At the end, we will meet to review the design presentation which includes imagery and samples so you can visualize the final result.

Execute
Once the design has been approved, we’ll collect your investment in order to purchase your product orders. At this stage, any construction included in your project would initiate.

Reveal
At this stage, the wait is over. Construction has wrapped, custom orders are complete, furniture has arrived. Over a day or more depending upon the scale of your project, we collect our trusted movers and installers to put everything in place. We expertly manage this process, so that the vision is executed to our standards. Rugs are laid, furniture is in place, lighting is installed, art is hung, the space is accessorized and styled. We welcome you home to experience the grand reveal! From here, we’ll resolve any outstanding notes on the space, and you’ll receive the final invoices until our next collaboration begins!

What is a typical timeline?
COVID has extended the typical timelines with extended lead times and very low inventory. A typical decorating project may take 5-7 months with a renovation of 6-10 months. Each project is unique and expected timeline will be discussed at the beginning of the project factoring in scope and scale
Is the consultation free?
The up to 2-hour in-home consultation is $410 + HST. During this meeting, you will be provided actionable ideas and professional advice. You get the design advice for a fraction of the price.
How are design services calculated?
Design services are billed by an hourly rate, in quarter-hour increments to be the most cost-efficient for the client.
Time billing is captured on monthly invoicing sent during the first week of every month.
Do you offer a flat fee per project?
At this time we do not offer a flat fee. Design services are calculated at an hourly rate.
